    Good notebook

Lays flat from the first day. Sturdy hard cover. Regalia paper performs good with most inks. Sheening and shading inks show their beauty on the paper. Recommended as an EDC Journal notebook.

    It’s good stuff!!!

I purchased 2 additional Storyboards along with my New Explorer Notebook Cover which came with one Dotted Storyboard. Is it OG Tomoe River? No. But it shouldn’t be. It is its own paper and rightly so. I find it very pleasant to write on and with. In fact, ever since I received it in the post, I haven’t been without it! It does amazing things to fountain pen inks. Inks that may be average on every other paper will pop on Regalia. In fact, I was just writing with Platinum Carbon Black and it gave it the most interesting silvery metallic look when looking at it at a 45° angle.Wow! Regular Pilot Blue, that comes with your Pilot when you purchase it,becomes vibrant and almost electric looking! Try a sheening ink on this Regalia 80gsm paper and stand back! It is at least as, if not more, dramatic as on Tomoe River 52gsm.paper. And I love Tomoe River paper! Regalia is soft to the touch. It is not slick. You will not be skating out of control with this paper. However, it is smooth and your pen will flow without losing control. It is not thirsty so your pen will not drag. It is perfect. Also, I wanted to share some photos of Platinum Carbon Black with my very wet Pilot Vanishing Point ( It came that way) fine nib. It’s the pen that’s thick and wet writing on any paper. But to show how it DOES NOT bleed through at all, look for yourself. Do not hesitate purchasing lots of this paper. But I know we all have different tastes. So maybe just buy a few Storyboards. And don’t forget the Explorer Leather Notebook Cover.I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Happy Writing!

    Good but not great

The Regalia paper is a good paper for fountain pens but it’s not a replacement for Tomoe River paper. The coating on Regalia is not as smooth as Tomoe River so you get more feedback from the pen nib. I find this to be a plus. The Observer journal had a damaged corner on the front cover. This probably came from inserting the journal into the cover. Overall I’d give the Observer Journal an 8.5 OUT OF 10.

    Excellent Journal

This one is a dream to write, fully opens and lies flat on a table, works wonderfully well with high end fountain pens as Mont Blanc, Sailor, Pelikan and Lamy. Does not smudge ink and easy to carry

    Testimonials

I’m quite impressed with the Endless Recorder notebook. I appreciate the extra touches, such as the Table of Contents and the page numbers. I prefer its white 68gsm Tomoe paper over cream, especially for ink swabbing.

Given the slimmer profile and general absence of bulk, these notebooks would also make excellent travel journals. Since the pages are numbered, this notebook could also easily be converted into a bullet journal.
