Having no experience with Regalia paper, I was not sure how it would handle fountain pens. But, I watched some reviews and decided to take the plunge. I’m glad I did! To give you a reference point, the regalia paper feels similar to Rhodia paper to me. It’s a bummer that Tomoe River paper isn’t a thing anymore, but this Regalia paper will do just fine. I used a pilot vanishing point, medium nib inked with Iroshizuku Kon-Peki. A rather “wet” writing pen with some rather “wet” writing ink. Still, no feathering or bleed through at all. Took about 10 seconds for the ink to dry enough to run my finger over it and have it not smudge. All in all, I can attest to regalia’s paper quality and fountain pen friendliness. I would say if Rhodia paper is a 10/10, I would rate the regalia paper as 9.0/10.
As for the size, I really like it. I have been using the passport size notebook from another company for a long time now and wanted something bigger, but not rectangle sized. This is what I went with and the size is perfect for journaling and carrying around. Only downside is the size seems to be proprietary to Endless, so you are limited to this notebook only for the explorer leather cover refills. Kind of limits your options but oh well.
The paper itself seems very good. But the "notebook" is tiny. It's partly my fault for not paying closer attention to the dimensions, but when I read "large notebook " I imagined an A4 sized(or close to it at least) notebook. I can barely write anything on this thing. Please remove the "large" part of the item description so dummies like me don't just blindly buy your product expecting an actual large notebook. In addition, if you could please make an A4 sized notebook I would be a huge fan of them and buy several a month, as the paper feels fantastic to write on. Thanks.
